Well we just returned from the Wake for our friends Henry and Maggie's little boy Henry. It was heartbreaking. At just four and a half weeks old he went to be with Jesus last week. They decided to do an open casket, so for most of us, it was the first time to physically see Henry. What a cute little guy. He looked just like a normal little boy, sleeping in a bed. His eyelashes were amazing. He did have beautiful eyes, I remember from his pictures. It was amazing to see the pictures from Riley when he had all kinds of machines wired to him. Then to see him the two weeks he was home and looking like any other 2 month old. WOW, what a journey they have been on. But the fact that he is with Jesus right now, is reassuring to know he is no longer suffering and look what God gets to carry around, a beautiful baby boy.
While Henry lived a short life here on earth, it is amazing the lives that he touched. From reading the postings on the Caring Bridge website, you could see people's faith in God growing stronger. If that was the purpose for little Henry's life and he can accomplish it in 4 short months, WOW! What an incredible life. I just wish people would say the same of me.
Watching Henry and Maggie go through this is really eye opening and gives you a real dose of reality. Life is short and you should never take it for granted. They are blessed with a beautiful red haired 3 year old Morgan...what a blessing she has to be during this tough time.
